Stavanger
A cliff ledge 600 m above the Lysefjord at Preikestolen, then a coastline of white wooden towns and skerries running east through Lindesnes, Mandal's kilometre of white sand and Risør's boat harbours.
5 nights, 4 stops. This is one of the routes we actually run across Norway. It is the spine of a trip, not the trip. Tell us how you travel and the plan reshapes it into yours.
Each stop earns its nights. The quiz decides how long you stay in each, and whether a stop drops off entirely because it is not you.

Wooden Hanseatic warehouses on the Bryggen wharf, a fish market on the water, a funicular up Mount Fløyen, and an hour east the Hardangerfjord's orchards, cider farms and the Vøringsfossen waterfall.
From the Norway file. Real places, filed by people who went, not scraped from a Top 10 list.
8 km return with 460 m of climb, 4 to 5 hours for most people including time at the top. The trail is open all year but May to September is the realistic window, and July to August is both the warmest and the busiest.
The UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf, then the funicular six minutes up Mount Fløyen, departures every 10 minutes and running 08:00 to midnight in summer. At the top are hiking trails, cafés, a restaurant open 11:00 to 23:00, and goats.
Bergen's cinnamon bun, brought in by the Hanseatic League in the 16th century and named after its original price of one skilling. The raisins vanished in the Second World War and never came back.
There has been trading on this spot since the 1200s. The indoor Mathallen opened in 2012 and runs year round, Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 21:30 and Sunday 10:00 to 21:30. The outdoor stalls run from 1 May through the summer.
Five short questions, about three minutes. The plan starts from this route and a library of Norway trips we have tested, then reshapes the nights, the food and the days to your pace and budget.
No sponsored stops, no filler days. If a place stays on your plan, it earned the spot.
