Coron Bay WWII shipwreck diving
Nine or more sunken Japanese fleet vessels, bombed by Allied forces on 24 September 1944, sitting in 0 to 45 metres of water and now encrusted with coral. Local PADI shops run 3 fun dives for around PHP 3,500, operators using imported Western staff charge closer to PHP 4,500.

Regularly rated one of the cleanest lakes in Asia, a short uphill stair climb to a viewpoint then down to swim. PHP 300 entrance covers a life jacket, guide supervision and the conservation fee.

A 4.2 kilometre sandbank paired with adjoining Calitang Beach, about 45 minutes from El Nido town, free to enter. Motorbike rental is the popular way in at PHP 400 to 600 a day, mostly paved with a short unsealed stretch near the end.
