Picks that sit on this route.

From the Switzerland file. Real places, filed by people who went, not scraped from a Top 10 list.

Do · St Moritz

Segantini Museum

A purpose-built domed museum (1908) holding 37 paintings and 26 drawings by Giovanni Segantini, who spent his final years in the Engadin. Small, quiet, an easy solo visit.

Do · St Moritz

Lake St Moritz Promenade

A flat, paved 4.4km loop around Lake St Moritz starting from the train station, suitable for any fitness level. Low-commitment, safe and scenic, good paired with a walnut tart from Café Hanselmann eaten lakeside. Year-round.

Do · Between St Moritz and Celerina

Olympia Bob Run

The world's oldest bobsleigh run still in use, built 1904, rebuilt by hand from snow and water every winter. Guest rides (four-person sled, sandwiched between pilot and brakeman) reach over 130 km/h across a run lasting about 75 seconds; the adjoining Cresta & Bob Museum covers the sport's history if you'd rather not ride. Winter season only, book ahead, a genuinely unusual, high-adrenaline solo-bookable activity in a town that otherwise skews couples and luxury.

Do · Lugano-Paradiso

Monte San Salvatore

A funicular to a 912m summit with 360-degree views over Lake Ceresio, the Lombard plain, and the Swiss and Savoy Alps, reached from Lugano-Paradiso. A straightforward solo outing on well-signed transit.

¶ 03 · How it becomes yours

The route is the spine. You are the trip.

Five short questions, about three minutes. The plan starts from this route and a library of Switzerland trips we have tested, then reshapes the nights, the food and the days to your pace and budget.

No sponsored stops, no filler days. If a place stays on your plan, it earned the spot.
